The Faenza team has been part of the Red Bull family since 2006, when the energy-drink company bought the old Minardi outfit and renamed it Toro Rosso. It became AlphaTauri in 2020, then Racing Bulls in 2024.
Its job inside the Red Bull system is twofold: develop young drivers (this is where Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, and Max Verstappen all learned the sport), and absorb shared parts from the senior Red Bull team to keep development costs down. That sharing — gearbox, suspension, sometimes more — is permitted within FIA regulations and is the team’s core competitive edge.
For 2026 the lineup is Liam Lawson, who graduated from reserve to full-time, paired with British rookie Arvid Lindblad. The car runs Red Bull Powertrains-Ford engines like its big sister.
